OUR HISTORY

CNP/Kore Timoun was founded in 1998 by Dr. Mitchell L. Mutter, a cardiologist from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Mutter has been coming to Haiti on medical mission teams since 1988. In 1998 during one of those trips, he and his colleagues had been fighting to save the life of a severely malnourished three year old boy, who appeared to be an infant. Despite all of their best efforts, the child died. For years Dr. Mutter had known that in this land of extreme poverty and limited health care men, women, and children were dying from conditions and situations that would have been preventable or minor in the developed world. The death of this little boy sent him on a search to answer the question: "What are we to do about it?" And so, CNP/Kore Timoun was born.
